Korean Technology Export Value Registered 73.5% Growth in 2004

The total value of Korean technology exports in 2004 posted a 73.5% increase from 2003, reaching around US$1.4 billion. Machinery and electronics related technologies accounted for 58.7% of the export value with US$831 million, while the information and communications technology export value grew by 175.8% to US$175.8 million. Technology import value in 2004, however, amounted to more than US$4.1 billion, creating a technology trade deficit of over US$2.7 billion, a figure US$311 million more than what was registered in 2003.
